The final step. No restrictions, no time limits, no passenger limits. Our Full Licence assessment polishes your riding to the standard our CBTA Assessors require at the highest level.
About the assessment
The CBTA Full Motorcycle Licence (class 6F) is the final stage of the NZ motorcycle licence pathway. Once passed, you're free from all riding restrictions — any time of day, any passenger, any road, any bike.
The full assessment covers higher-speed roads, complex traffic situations, and advanced hazard management. At Revs, we prepare you comprehensively so you walk into assessment day fully confident and ready.
What you'll work on
Demonstrate confident, safe riding on open roads at higher speeds — correct positioning, overtaking judgement, and sustained situational awareness.
Identify, prioritise, and respond to multiple hazards simultaneously — the hallmark of a fully competent, CBTA-certified rider.
Checking mirrors, scanning your whole environment including blind spot checks. Completed efficiently to maintain full awareness of your surroundings.
Before you book
You must hold a NZ restricted motorcycle licence and have held it for a minimum of 9 months before sitting the full licence assessment. (See date of issue on the back of your licence)
You can bring your own LAMS motorcycle or hire one through Revs — speak to us in advance to arrange this. Your bike must be roadworthy and WoF compliant and meet NZTA assessment requirements.
Full riding gear is required for assessment: helmet, gloves, jacket, boots, and trousers. This is an NZTA requirement and non-negotiable.
Not sure if your licence hold time or bike qualifies? Get in touch with Revs before booking and we'll confirm everything you need before the day.
